12th Dec 2012

Been working a lot like mad lately. Workload have never been reduced at all since than, been staying up nights after nights with lots of weekend being spend staying in the office, in front of a monitor which been asking for me to go get some rest and the headphone with had been accompanied me on all times through high and lows.

In short pretty much when you open the eyes what you see is some white ceiling, some typing sounds across the office, have your arm raised just to know that you had only rest for 3hours. Get back home at 3am, wake up on 12. get to office at 2, get back home at 3am the next day and it just looped for days with some minor variation that you might reached office the time when everyone is leaving the office and you are going to stay in the office until the next day with stares people leaving on you that makes you wonder whether do you stinks or simply looking bad. and you wonder whether had you been transferred into the night shift crew which the responsibility had been transformed from a normal staff to a office keeper guard which guard the office throughout the long yet the boring dull night.

Put all these asides, i feel ultra grateful and happy recently as if there are some big events and turning point of life had been casting upon me, which made me feel that I'm the happiest guy or luckiest guy in the world. :)
Besides, I had learnt a lot of handy stuffs in the office, had some really good exchange of words and insight of the whole architecture world, it had been really exciting and fun experience to me, dealing with ken. Optimistic spirit at its best.

5am in the morning, there goes my little break time in the office writing this post, will be uploading more pics and write more.. after the coming 18th submission of a competition. it'd be interesting i suppose.

14th October 2012

welcome :)

Started trainee life over 1 months and a week, things had been going on much better than expected. The place is full of fun, unique in taste and full of awesomeness within. The workers and staff there are very friendly, down to earth and full of passion. Almost O-T for every single day and worked in the office over the weekend for a few times, had been learning a lot of stuffs since the first day i stepped in the office. while i mean, REAL lots. Never got so excited and so motivated before. Its like finally i get to be at my desired working place/platform that I always dream for, the feeling is overwhelming and indescribably awesome.

On the other hand, the exhibition started and got some pretty positive responses from the crowds. The duration of the exhibition might be extended and the exhibit work will be featured in a monologue book by the school later.

Below are the promised model photo and some photo of my work over the architecture exhibition, pretty much sums up all of the main project that I have done in my school day. enjoy.

bah.. this should be really the end of my diploma, leaving this place with a few of regrets here and there..
If only time reverses, if only.

Presentation scheme and style :
To show the flaming spirit of the ibans warrior, orange and black represent the iconic impression from the mixture of the skin of orang ibans and the sarawak tattoos design while the main composition idea is to enhance and strengthen the super-perspective; soul of the iban longhouse void into the presentation drawing, as though trying to draw and absorb the audience into the world of Rich Iban Culture.

Extra design-process images:
earliest vray render of the atrium hall (2th July)
Geisel Library

If there is a need to list down one of the building which i studied and references from, this will be the building I select: The Geisel Library.

Basically the Brutalism impression, the strong boldness and striking appearance as though it is projecting outward is what i want to imply to my building design along with some concept of Truth over material and verticality in the glazing panel.

Remember how the iban warrior point that blow pipe on the audience intend to scares the audience off during the performance at sarawak cultural village?

Thus, the aggressiveness and the hostility of the ibans are to be interpret and convey in the similar way...
